What Is Injection Molding?

Injection molding is the world's most efficient manufacturing process for producing high-volume, dimensionally accurate plastic parts. Molten plastic material is injected under high pressure into a precision-engineered steel mold cavity, where it cools and solidifies into the desired shape — repeatedly, with consistent quality.

Design & DFM Review

Our engineers analyze your CAD files for moldability — wall thickness, draft angles, undercuts — and provide a Design for Manufacturability report.

Mold Design & Tooling

Precision P20 or H13 steel molds are CNC-machined and EDM-finished to ±0.005mm accuracy. T1 samples within 7–15 days.

Material Selection

We help you choose from 50+ engineering-grade resins — ABS, PC, PA66, POM, PEEK, TPE, LSR — matched to your strength, chemical, and thermal requirements.

Injection & Molding

Molten resin is injected at precise pressures (500–2000 bar) and temperatures into the mold. Cycle times range from 5 to 120 seconds depending on part geometry.

Cooling & Ejection

Conformal cooling channels maintain optimal mold temperature. Parts are ejected cleanly and consistently once solidified to the correct dimensions.

Quality Inspection

CMM measurement, visual inspection, and functional testing ensure every batch meets your drawing tolerances and quality standards before shipping.

Post-Processing & Finishing

Parts receive surface finishing, painting, plating, pad printing, or assembly as required — providing a complete, production-ready solution.

Types of Injection Molding We Offer

From standard thermoplastics to liquid silicone and multi-component parts, SSP Precision covers the full spectrum of injection molding technologies for global clients.

Thermoplastic Injection Molding

The most common process — ideal for ABS, PC, PP, PA, POM, and dozens of other engineering resins. High volume, low cost per part, excellent dimensional stability.

LSR / Liquid Silicone Injection Molding

Two-component liquid silicone is injected at low temperature into a heated mold — ideal for medical-grade seals, gaskets, baby products, and wearables requiring biocompatibility.

Overmolding

A second material (often TPE or silicone) is molded over a substrate part, creating soft-touch grips, bi-color products, sealed assemblies, and improved ergonomics.

Metal inserts, threaded nuts, or electrical contacts are placed in the mold before injection — encapsulated in plastic for strong, permanent integration in a single operation.

Gas-Assisted Injection Molding

Nitrogen gas is injected to create hollow channels inside thick-walled parts, reducing weight, eliminating sink marks, and achieving complex internal geometries.

Two-Shot (2K) Molding

Two different materials or colors are molded in sequence in a single mold — producing complex multi-material parts without secondary assembly, at high efficiency.

Micro Injection Molding

Designed for miniature precision parts weighing as little as 0.01g — used in medical devices, micro-optics, and microelectronics. Tolerances down to ±0.005mm.

Structural Foam Molding

A blowing agent creates a cellular foam core within a solid skin — producing lightweight, rigid structural parts with excellent strength-to-weight ratios for industrial applications.

Thermoset Injection Molding

Epoxy, phenolic, and BMC materials are permanently cross-linked during molding — ideal for electrical components, heat-resistant housings, and parts requiring dimensional stability at high temperatures.
